The good news in Oregon all massage therapists have to go through an accredited program including passing a written and state licensing exam. That means for the most part a Licensed Massage Therapist will have had the education required give you a quality experience. After you make your appointment you should arrive a few minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork which generally includes a consent form and a brief health history form. The more information I have about you the better I can prepare in order to give you the best possible experience and outcome. I also recommend to drink plenty of water before a massage since the process can be dehydrating.
After a brief chat to discuss what the problem areas are, I'll show you back to your room and have you disrobe to your level of comfort. I'll leave the room and then reenter when you are comfortably on the table then discuss the techniques I'll use for your specific situation. When the session closes I will remind you to drink plenty of water and ice areas that are sore. It is not uncommon to be a little sore after your first massage so drink water and ice as needed.
